Dr. Christophe Noel
Director of innovation
Christophe is a molecular biologist with an extensive expertise in Phylogeny and Bioinformatic applications, including contributions to several Genomes of major human parasites. Key contributor in developing Geneius’ molecular portfolio and in creating innovative DNA based platforms of investigative tools. Christophe joined the company in September 2008 from previous positions as a Leverhulme Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Newcastle University Medical School, Marie Curie Fellowship at the London Natural History Museum following a PhD in Parasitology the Institut Pasteur de Lille (France).
Dr. Emily Abbot
Emily is a highly qualified molecular biologist with a microbiology background. She was instrumental in developing Geneius’ molecular portfolio and in establishing the laboratory procedures and quality systems under which the company operates. Emily joined the company in its infancy in September 2008 from her previous position as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist and holds a BSC and PhD in Biological Sciences from Newcastle University.
Ian has more than 20 years successful leadership experience in sales, account management and business development gained across a wide range of commercially competitive markets in both national and international roles. Ian holds a BEng (Hons) in mechanical engineering and joined Geneius in June 2014 from a role managing global corporate accounts through European teams.
Head of finance & administration
Craig joined the company in January 2016 as part of the growing executive team at Geneius. Mr Newbould has worked with private sector business based primarily in the North East of England for over 20 years, and has extensive experience in providing corporate and other financial services to a broad and varied industry base. Mr Newbould holds Fellow member status within the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Currently a non-executive director and private investor in a number of companies, Mr. Smart has worked in both the public and private sectors and has established a track record of successfully taking companies and organizations through major strategic changes. Mr. Smart holds a B.Sc. in chemical technology, a B.A. in applied computing, as well as an M.B.A. from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
